About Corey Madden
In 2020 Corey Madden founded Arts Intelligence to help the arts and cultural sector imagine new ways forward. Arts Intelligence offers coaching for individuals, facilitation of team and organizational meetings, strategic consultation, and program design consultation. In addition, Arts Intelligence acts as a regional and national convener for the arts and cultural sector.
Over her 4 decade career Corey Madden has served as Executive Director of Monterey Museum of Art, Executive Director of the Kenan Institute for the Arts, Founder and Artistic Director of L’Atelier Arts, Associate Artistic Director of the Mark Taper Forum and Producing Director of Performing for Los Angeles Youth both at Center Theatre Group Los Angeles.
Over her career Madden has been a creative and strategic consultant to numerous arts organizations including Native Voices, NC Museum of Art, Getty Museum, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Santa Monica Arts Commission, Occidental College, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Pasadena Arts Council, Childsplay Theatre, Autry Museum for Western Heritage, Pacific Asia Museum, City of Los Angeles, Peace Over Violence.
Madden is also a working artist whose creative practice includes writing and directing. In addition Madden has been a curator, programmer and producer on more than 300 projects and exhibitions spanning the performing and visual arts.
Current projects include Work in Progress on Substack And So We Walked: An Artist Journey Along the Trail of Tears written and performed by Delanna Studi, which has toured nationally and internationally including to the Carthage International Theatre Festival in Tunisia and been produced by Portland Center Stage, Indiana Rep and Triad Stage. Madden is the writer and director of Numbered Days, a poetic memoir that is in development at the Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles.
